Cedar Breaks National Monument

Utah

The National Park Service describes Cedar Breaks as sitting at over 10,000 feet and looking down into a half-mile-deep geologic amphitheater, with bristlecone pines along the rim and wildflowers blooming through the summer. Entry is $25* per private vehicle, valid for 7 days, and the park does not accept cash. Access varies by season: the NPS lists the visitor center, park store and museum as open through October 17, 2026, and says State Route 148 through the monument is closed to vehicles from mid-November to mid-May on average. From I-15 the NPS directions use exit 78 (Parowan) and Utah Highway 143 east for approximately 15 miles, or exit 57 (Cedar City), Utah Highway 14 east for approximately 18 miles and then Utah Highway 148 for 4 miles.
