Dinosaur Ridge, run by the nonprofit Friends of Dinosaur Ridge, offers a self-guided outdoor walk of 1.1 miles (one way, gate to gate) along a paved road with interpretive signs, available from sun up to sun down; the site says visitors can see more than 250 fossil tracks. The Main Visitor Center at 16831 W. Alameda Parkway has an exhibit hall of paleo-murals, fossil replicas and real fossil bones of giant long-necked dinosaurs, open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily March 15-October 31 and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily November 1-March 14, with free parking during open hours. Without a guided tour, exhibit-hall admission, which includes the Martin G. Lockley Discovery Center, is $10* for adults and $8* for ages 3-11, with no charge for ages 2 and under. Guided bus tours of about 45 minutes are listed at $21* for ages 12 and up and $15* for ages 3-11.
