The Getty Center sits above the 405 at 1200 Getty Center Drive in Los Angeles. It opens Tuesday to Friday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and closes on Mondays. Admission is free, but the Getty requires a timed-entry reservation.
Parking is charged separately and booked with the same reservation, so the free admission is not quite a free day out unless you arrive by bus. A tram carries visitors from the car park up to the galleries and gardens on the hill.
