Grand Canyon National Park

Arizona

The National Park Service describes the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River as a mile-deep canyon that bisects the park; the South Rim is open 24 hours a day all year, and the park lists no reservation or timed entry for admission. Entry is $35* per private vehicle, $30* per motorcycle or $20* per person on foot or bicycle, valid for seven days and payable by card (no cash), with an added $100* per person for non-U.S. residents aged 16 and older unless they hold an annual or America the Beautiful pass; the free South Rim shuttle is included. The visitor center is open daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on its fall schedule and shows two park films in its theater. Before going: as of October 14, 2026 the park lists overnight lodging inside the park as suspended since August 31 (flash-flood damage to the park's water line), with dry camping the sole camping option, while day use, food service and lodging in the town of Tusayan continue; the park also lists the North Kaibab Trail, Phantom Ranch, and the Bright Angel and South Kaibab trails below their upper rest points as closed with no reopening date, so check the park's key hiking messages page and call 928-638-7888 before planning an overnight stay or an inner-canyon hike.
