Independence Hall

Pennsylvania

Independence Hall, at 520 Chestnut Street in Independence National Historical Park, is the building the National Park Service describes as the room where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were both signed; the park notes it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Entry is through a security screening area on the south side of the hall, reached by stairs or a ramp on 5th Street between Chestnut and Walnut, and open containers of food or drink are not allowed through. The NPS lists an open house from 9 am to 10:30 am with no tickets, then tours every 20 minutes from 10:40 am to 4 pm that need tickets reserved on Recreation.gov; the tickets are free, with a $1.00* per-ticket handling fee, and the NPS advises arriving 30 minutes before the tour time. The Liberty Bell Center nearby is listed as free, open daily 9 am to 5 pm, with no tickets required.
