The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum at Brigham Young University, 645 E 1430 N in Provo, opened to the public in 1978. Its exhibits include an evolutionary tree of life exhibit on biodiversity, an exhibit on threatened, endangered and extinct life forms that features a full-mount elephant and a specimen of the extinct passenger pigeon, and an exhibit on the habitats of Africa's wildlife. Admission is free; hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
