The Utah Division of State History's article on Interstate 70 says the highway pierces the San Rafael Reef by way of Little Spotted Wolf Canyon, where a natural gorge just a few feet wide was enlarged to four-lane capacity. A Spotted Wolf Canyon view area is listed in Wikipedia's I-70 in Utah entry, which describes it as about halfway down the canyon with a view of the canyon narrowing as it approaches the San Rafael Reef, and the Utah Geological Survey notes that I-70 has many scenic viewpoint pullouts through the Swell. We were unable to confirm from an official highway page which directions of travel the view area serves, its parking, or its facilities; the Utah Department of Transportation is the agency to ask.
