The St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm is an indoor, air-conditioned museum whose own site describes it as sitting on an Early Jurassic lake ecosystem preserved with fossilized animal tracks; the tracks were found in 2000 when local optometrist Dr. Sheldon Johnson was leveling a hill on his property, and he and his wife LaVerna donated them and arranged for the land to be cared for by the City of St. George (Visit Utah). A Tracksite Boardwalk runs from the smallest dinosaur tracks to running footprints and a crocodylian trackway that changes from walking to swimming. The museum's own site lists hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week (last entry 4:30 p.m.) and admission of $10* for adults 18 to 59, $9* for seniors 60 and over and $5* for ages 5 to 17, with ages 4 and under free. It is at 2180 East Riverside Drive, St. George, and tickets can be booked on the museum's site.
