St. George Tabernacle

The St. George Tabernacle, at 18 S. Main Street, was begun in June 1863 using local red sandstone and completed in 1876, according to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose historic-site page for it lists guided tours and exhibits of artifacts used in its construction and ornamentation. The page lists hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, and does not state an admission fee; the phone listed is 435-677-6230. The Brigham Young Winter Home and Office at 67 West 200 North, restored and furnished to reflect its 1870s appearance and open to the public year-round, lists the same weekly hours. Neither page states an admission fee, and neither gives a walking distance between the two sites.
